Julie Faulks is a Cairns-based physiotherapist with over 38 years of private practice experience at Proactive Physiotherapy - she focuses on clear communication to understand each client’s lifestyle and goals, delivering tailored treatments to help them improve - Julie emphasizes teaching self-management techniques to empower clients in their health - she and her team stay updated through ongoing education - known for her caring and professional approach, she is trusted by generations of Cairns residents - Julie specializes in Manipulative Physiotherapy with a Masters in Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy, focusing on the whole spine, especially neck and jaw pain - personally, she values a balanced life, enjoys time with family and pets, singing, and traveling.
Anelma is an experienced hands-on physio with expertise in manual techniques like dry needling and a holistic approach to treating pain by addressing its root cause - trained in South Africa and having worked in the US, she has 25 years of international experience including running her own practice and training new graduates - her clinical interests cover spinal and joint injuries, chronic pain, headaches, vertigo, neurological conditions, and postural re-education among others - outside work, she enjoys gardening, reading, knitting, long walks, and spending time with friends.
Marilla has been a part-time physiotherapist at Proactive Physiotherapy for over 25 years, initially focusing on general musculoskeletal care before specializing in pelvic health for more than 15 years - she works in the Pelvic Health Clinic managing bladder and bowel continence, prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related issues, and pelvic floor rehabilitation for men and women - Marilla holds post-graduate qualifications in pelvic floor physiotherapy and pelvic organ prolapse management and is part of a dedicated team providing evidence-based care - outside work, she balances her career with fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Laura is a physiotherapist with a special interest in neurodivergence, hypermobility, and pelvic health, inspired by her own experiences with ADHD, hypermobility, and Marfan's syndrome - after graduating in 2023, she moved from a rural cattle station to Cairns and is passionate about accessible healthcare for all - with a background in dance, circus, and sports training, she focuses on athletic development and holistic musculoskeletal care - Laura provides inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly physiotherapy, including support for gender-affirming care, and works closely with local health providers - outside work, she enjoys sewing, reading, aerial sports, and advocates for disability inclusion on the Queensland Disability Advisory Council.
Rejoice moved to Australia in 2020 and is known for her compassionate, client-centred approach and strong communication skills - as a mother, she relates to the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum body changes and encourages people to seek help for often embarrassing pelvic health issues - her clinical interests include pelvic health for women and men, managing incontinence, pelvic pain, post-surgical care, vestibular rehabilitation, and dry needling - she also offers telehealth consultations - outside work, she enjoys swimming, reading, and dancing.
Kayleigh is a passionate physiotherapist who graduated with distinction in 2022 and gained experience in ICU, paediatrics, orthopaedics, neurology, and musculoskeletal care while working in a rural South African hospital - she developed a strong interest in pelvic health, sports, and paediatrics, prompting her move to Australia in 2023 - bubbly and determined, she enjoys hands-on therapy and is committed to helping clients return to daily life - her clinical interests include developmental delays, paediatric pelvic health, bladder and bowel incontinence, prenatal care, sexual pain, and sports injuries - personally, Kayleigh is active, loves the outdoors, traveling, adventurous hobbies, and spending time with her partner and furbaby, often sharing her famous brownie recipe.
